The Mission of the Bernie Police
Department is to protect the life, property, and the rights of the citizens
of Bernie; to enforce the city's ordinances and laws; and to preserve it's
peace, order, and safety through whatever means necessary. In the pursuit of
our mission, the Bernie Police Department will establish effective
relationships and trust with the community through community involvement and
fair dealings. We will hold ourselves to the highest standards of
performance, ethics, and morals. We be constantly aware of the needs of the
people of our community and how we serve them. In order to enhance our
service, we will consider innovative strategies and seek to gain education
in order to improve working conditions and policing programs. We will, by
working together, aim to improve the overall quality of life for our
community by continually striving toward community problem solving and
accountability.
