A Little About the Artist

Bobby Whitehead of Bernie has painted murals in Bernie and throughout the country for over twenty years.  He has even painted a mural for former President Carter in Georgia.  He is currently working on a book that will consist of all his art work that is on canvas, in his home, and of outside murals.

This Mural can be found on the side of the old Winer's Department Store.  Most everyone will recognize the man in this as Dr. F.O. Kelley.  Dr. Kelley delivered over 2,000 babies around this area.   He was a very well known doctor, and probably brought many Bernie residents  into this world. He was the Doctor in Bernie for many many years.

This indoor mural is in the home of  Mr. and Mrs. Willard Adams who live in the  Westside Acres sub-division

 

                  

                                   

This picture is of a mural on the side of a building on Main Street in downtown Bernie.  It is giving recognition to our Volleyball team and to Coach Bill Zoll for doing a great job throughout the years in making our high school volleyball team State Champs!

 

       

These murals can be seen along Highway 25, the first in the middle of town, and the second at Bernie's north city limits.
Bobby's latest mural, completed in August 2008, is located on the old Western Auto building at the corner of Main and Stewart Street.  It depicts scenes from the Vietnam war.
