Our Council plays an important role in making decisions
that effect our City. They incorporate a functioning budget,
create and enforce ordinances, and represent the Bernie citizens in their
ward. Bernie is divided up into three wards, with two aldermen
elected from each
ward. They serve a term of two years.
An Alderman from each ward comes up for re-election every April. The
City Council meets on the first Monday night of each month at 7:00
p.m. in the Bernie Courtroom. Special sessions are held as needed.
The meetings are open to the public and citizens are always welcome to attend.
