Taser Certification Course

On February 24, Bernie Officers attended a Taser Certification class taught by Stoddard County Deputy Andy Harris.  After completion of this course, officers are certified to carry and deploy the Taser weapon.  Officers are taught the safe and effective way to use the weapon, and are able to explain not only the mechanics of the weapon, but how the Taser  overrides the central nervous system.  Most instructors require their students to be Tased in order to be certified.  Here, Patrolman Mitch Farmer, is assisted by Chief of Police Justin Allen and Patrolman Jason Dozier as he is Tased by Harris.
